Report on the Training Programme on “OGD Visualization engine” for the selected officials of Department of Economics and Statistics and Project Management Unit (PMU) of ELCOT ” held on 13th September 2019 at DES Computer Centre DMS Complex, Chennai from 10 AM to 5 PM.

Dr P Balasubramanian, Additional Director DES, has given the inaugural address to the participants of the training programme and asked them to use the opportunity to get trained on the tools available so as to bring out the required analytical information based on the data available, for the benefits of the administration to take decisions as when needed.

The following officers have graced the occasion and delivered the special addresses with their valuable points on Open Government Data:

Mr Manivannan has briefed the participants about objectives of the training programme and its benefits to the participants.

Mr Sunil Babbar and Mr Akhilesh have briefly explained the features of the visualization tools available and its usage to bring out analytical reports based on the datasets available in the TNOGD portal. They have also demonstrated the generation of various types of graphs one after another depending on the requirements.

The participants have carried out hands on sessions to see themselves towards the generations of the various type of graphs highlighted earlier.

The participants have been asked to use the  visualization tool on a day today basis as per the needs and in case of any clarifications, ELCOT may be contacted by mail for necessary support as required.

Mrs Bhuvaneswari, Deputy Manager-II, ELCOT, has assisted the participants during the training session and also provided vote of thanks at the end.

During this training programme, 10 officials from Department of Economics and Statistics, and 10 officials from PMU ELCOT,  have participated.
